Born in 1984, the narrator moved to various locations and attended various schools before moving to Orange-Farm in 1989. They attended ECD and later attended Tsepana Primary School and Jabulile Secondary School. After graduating, they started taking photos at school using money sent by their mother as a domestic worker. They worked at Vukaphansi General Dealer and CNA Eastgate Mall, taking Wholesale and Retail SETA and performing practicals at Edcon Group of Stores. After working at Excel Filling Station, they continued running a business of photography, videography, and branding.

The narrator started Mkhukhu Pizza using their aunt’s back house shack, a 2-plate oven stove, and local ingredients. The business went viral on social media, with the help of their mother and business coach. The narrator learned that trusting family is not always necessary when starting a business. They also learned to market their products using social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, and TikTok, and to take pictures of their products for promotions and menus.

The narrator’s proudest moments include working with Lucky Star to make and sample Lucky Pizza Chow, and meeting BI Phakathi who bought their pizza and boosted them with R5000. They advise others to start with passion, determination, an entrepreneurial mindset, open-mindedness, and creativity. Their future plans are to make pizza ordinary in Townships and Rural Areas, offering quality, tasty, and soft local-made pizza from original recipes. They are open to food-related business ventures and live by the quote “make use of your life purpose, as you only live once, and time wasted will never be regained.”
